Let Curly Dogs Be Curly: The Heart Behind the CurlyWags Mission

When CurlyWags founder Tiffany brought home her first curly-coated pup, Dora, she was smitten. But it didn’t take long for the joy to turn into confusion—why was Dora coming back from the groomer shaved down like a naked mole rat? Why were brushing sessions so frustrating? Why did caring for a curly coat feel so hard?
That moment led to a realization: There was no clear path for curly-coated dog parents.
No products made for their needs. No routines designed for their texture. And no one saying the thing that matters most:
Curly dogs deserve to be cared for with kindness—not constantly shaved down, tugged on, or brushed into straight submission.
That’s why we started CurlyWags. Because curly coats aren’t a flaw—they’re a feature worth celebrating.
Curly Isn’t Just a Look—It’s a Lifestyle
From tight poodle curls to soft doodle waves, curly coats are expressive, textured, and full of personality. But they require thoughtful care—hydration, gentle detangling, and curl-conscious routines that respect their shape.
Most grooming advice and products? Built for straight-haired dogs. Or worse—repurposed from human routines that don’t translate to fur.
At CurlyWags, we believe in something radically simple:
Let curly dogs be curly.
Nourish their natural texture. Extend the time between haircuts. Prevent mats without pain. And help every curly pup look (and feel) their best.

Our Curl-First Philosophy
We created the CurlyWags Method—a 4-step, kind-to-coat grooming routine—to take the guesswork (and tears) out of curly care.
And we developed our hero product, Curl Magic Cream, to nourish curls, reduce mats, and make brushing smoother and less frequent.
But more than products and process, we’re building something bigger:
A curl-positive community that says: your dog doesn’t have to look “tidy” to be loved. They can be fluffy. Wild. Free. Fabulous.
We’re Not Just a Grooming Brand. We’re a Kindness Brand.
Our mission is simple:
- ✂️ Less over-grooming.
- 🧴 More hydration, softness, and definition.
- 🐕 And more dogs who get to feel comfortable and confident in their own curls.
We don’t just want your pup to look good—we want them to feel good, too.
